Yusuf O. Cakmak, M.D, Ph.D - CSO
A/Prof. Cakmak, co-founder, leads the point-of-care technologies theme at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Prof. Cakmak developed the V1 Earstim at Koc University in collaboration with Prof.Urey. Prof. Cakmak holds numerous patents on therapeutic wearables and founded spin-out companies in the US and NZ.
Prof. Cakmak provides invited expert opinions to government MedTech panels in the US, EU, and Australasia. Cakmak received multiple wearable therapeutic device grants from MedTech Core NZ, Health Research Council NZ, and recently the NZ Royal Society Charles Fleming Senior Researcher Award in 2024. -
Burak Ozsoy, Ph.D Director of Product Development & Operations
Burak Ozsoy, a dedicated mechanical engineer who earned his doctorate from Texas Tech University, boasts an impressive career spanning over 15 years in the field of MedTech devices. Since 2015, Ozsoy has been overseeing the operations of Earstim, where he has made significant contributions to the company. His expertise lies in medical device technology operations, encompassing crucial areas such as manufacturing, clinical trials, and ensuring compliance with various regulations in both the United States and the European Union. -
Hakan Urey , Ph.D CTO
Prof. Urey is a distinguished figure in the field of electrical engineering, known for his significant contributions to micro-electromechanical systems. As a co-founder and Vice President for Research and Innovation at Koç University in Istanbul, Türkiye, he has led numerous initiatives that bridge academia and industry.Urey's innovative work has been recognized with more than 50 patents. He has also been successful in securing various international grants, notably including a prestigious ERC Advanced grant, which underscores the impact and relevance of his research in the global scientific community.
